Canada names EnergySolutions a team member in CNL nuclear management

EnergySolutions announced on Monday that a joint venture, in which they have equity stake, was selected to manage the operations of the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).

EnergySolutions announced on Monday that a joint venture, in which they have equity stake, was selected to manage the operations of the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).

The Canadian National Energy Alliance (CNEA) was awarded as the Canadian government's top bidding choice for the CNL. The venture consists of CH2M, Fluor, SNC-Lavalin and Rolls Royce as integrated subcontractors.

The company states that the agreement between the CNEA, and the government of Canada is expected to be finalized within a few month's time.

"We appreciate the confidence the Government of Canada has in EnergySolutions and the CNEA team to deliver on CNL's waste and decommissioning responsibilities, support nuclear federal commitments and service customers of the Laboratories," President and CEO of EnergySolutions David Lockwood said. "This is a tremendous opportunity for EnergySolutions to apply our unique nuclear expertise and to work closely with our team members to fulfill the mission of the Canadian government."
